"We believe their experience, their leadership and their technical acumen are really what we need, the team CEO, Dan Towriss, said. It's the right combination the right drivers at the right time and we're humbled by their belief in us in this project. We had questions, we had scepticism and he answered all of our questions, passed our tests with flying colours, Towriss added."
"This isn't just a racing project; it's a long-term vision. It's not every day that you get a chance to be part of something being built from the ground up and helping shape it into something that truly belongs on the F1 grid, said Bottas."
Cadillac signed Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas to multi-year deals as the team's debut driver pairing for the next Formula One season. Both drivers are 35 and bring extensive experience, combining for more than 500 race starts—Perez 281 and Bottas 246—and a total of 106 podium finishes. Cadillac values their experience, leadership and technical acumen for a long-term project entering a new engine era. The team will use Ferrari power units until 2029 while General Motors develops its own powertrains, and will join the grid as the 11th entrant facing a steep learning curve.
