""For me, this idea started with how much I rely on ChatGPT every day to learn, to organize my work, and to think through decisions," Vikki Lampton, an OpenAI employee, told reporters. "Using it has made me reflect on my own transition out of the Army in 2013 and how very different that experience could have been if a tool like ChatGPT existed back then.""
"The prompts, organized into pre-transition, transition, and post-transition sections, cover a wide range of topics, from résumé writing to navigating office politics. You can see the entire list here. Here are a few of the prompts from each category that stood out.If you click through the prompt on the site, it opens ChatGPT and plugs it in, so you can try it out yourself."
OpenAI is offering US service members and veterans free access to ChatGPT Plus for one year for those within 12 months of retirement or separation. Veteran employees compiled a list of 100 prompts tailored to different stages: pre-transition, transition, and post-transition. The prompts cover résumé writing, job search support, interview prep, networking, salary negotiation, and navigating workplace dynamics. Veterans receive a customized getting-started video on OpenAI Academy. The initiative aims to support roughly 200,000 service members who transition annually by providing practical AI-powered tools to learn, organize tasks, and make career decisions during and after military separation.
