"WalletHub examined a total of 182 US cities - the 150 most populated cities in the country, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state - to determine the best cities for job seekers in 2026. It evaluated 31 metrics to score and rank each city in two categories: job market and socioeconomics. The job market category, which was weighted more heavily, included factors such as job opportunities, unemployment rates, job satisfaction, and access to employee benefits."
"The study used data from multiple sources, including the US Census Bureau, the US Department of Labor, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Indeed, Glassdoor, The Pew Charitable Trusts, the Council for Community and Economic Research, and Gallup-Sharecare, among others. "It's important to look at more than just the number of jobs available or the unemployment rate when determining the best place to find employment," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo wrote. "Quality matters just as much as quantity, from the average salaries and benefits to job security and overall satisfaction.""
