She became a partner at 34 and later transitioned from telecom to tech after relocating to San Francisco in 2014. Sustained 100-hour weeks and exhausting travel preceded a cascade of health problems: headaches, rashes, infections, stomach issues, adrenal fatigue and recurrent shingles. After consulting many physicians, a rheumatologist diagnosed late-stage Lyme disease, likely latent from childhood and triggered by extreme stress. In 2019 she took an eight-month medical leave and developed severe neuropathy during recovery.
