More than half of broadband industry personnel recognize the need for structured training and many organizations are implementing programs. The survey, conducted for the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) and NCTI, found training effectiveness and time-to-productivity are ongoing challenges. Respondents reported that current workforce knowledge and skills are insufficient for present and future fiber projects. On-the-job training remains common, while a shift toward comprehensive training models aims to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Companies are creating career pathways and credentialing systems to attract younger talent.
