Bay Area doctors say Joe Biden's prostate cancer 'generally incurable' but likely treatable
Briefly

Former President Joe Biden has announced that he is dealing with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Following increasing urinary symptoms, he underwent medical examinations that revealed a prostate nodule, with doctors assessing the cancer as advanced and incurable. Experts, however, maintain that treatment options remain viable, providing hope for his prognosis. Treatments for this type of cancer could include medications to manage testosterone levels, with many individuals tolerating prostate cancer therapy effectively even at older ages. The disease's spread may pose risks but does not necessarily lead to severe complications in all cases.
But I think what was surprising was his grade of cancer. It was described as an aggressive cancer.
In this case, what caught my attention is that it has spread outside the prostate. So, that means it's more advanced. It also means by definition that it is generally incurable.
The good news is that most people, even in their 80s, tolerate standard of care prostate cancer therapy pretty well.
If it spreads and stays in the bones, generally doesn't cause a ton of trouble -- now, it can.
