York police have launched a significant crackdown on FunGuyz, a chain of illegal magic mushroom stores, charging 15 individuals and seizing over $3.5 million worth of psychedelics. This operation began following community complaints in March 2024 and led to 29 search warrants executed across Ontario. The operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of dried psilocybin mushrooms, candies infused with psilocybin, and other illegal substances, emphasizing the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces regarding drug-related activities in the region.
