(Evan Mitsui/CBC) While the sun returns on Sunday, winds will pick up to 20 kilometres per hour in the afternoon. The day will warm up to a high of -8 C and will feel closer to -15 C."
The Greater Toronto Area will face wind chills of -25 to -30 Saturday morning, Saturday night and into Sunday morning under a yellow alert from Environment Canada. Daytime highs include -11 C on Saturday (feels like -19 C) with some sunny breaks, and -8 C on Sunday (feels like -15 C) with stronger afternoon winds. Winds of up to 15 km/h tonight and up to 20 km/h Sunday afternoon will deepen wind chill and increase frostbite risk. Frostbite symptoms include colour changes, pain, numbness or tingling; anyone with symptoms should move indoors to warm immediately. The City of Toronto opened an eighth temporary warming centre at John Innes Community Centre, and warming centres remain available for rest, meals, washrooms and shelter referrals for those in need.
