Two teenagers wanted for 1st-degree murder in connection with shootings in Vaughan, Etobicoke: police | CBC News
"It's shocking to me that we're standing here with two 19-year-olds wanted for first-degree murder. Lopes was shot multiple times on Jan. 26 as he was exiting his business in a commercial plaza in Vaughan around 1:08 p.m. Mr. Lopez was a respected member of his community, a loving father and husband. His loss was deeply felt."
"Nandakumar died after being shot while seated in his car in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre on Feb. 7 around 3:26 p.m. Those who knew him described him as kind, generous, and always willing to help others. He maintained strong connections with others in the GTA."
"We don't have a motive, our connection to both homicides seems to only be that we share the same suspect. In both shootings stolen vehicles were used. Police believe the shootings were targeted."
Police are searching for Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, and Jacob Wallace, 19, in connection with two fatal shootings in the Greater Toronto Area. Sergio Lopes, 65, was shot multiple times on January 26 in a Vaughan commercial plaza, and Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37, was shot on February 7 at Woodbine Shopping Centre in Etobicoke. Badger is wanted for first-degree murder in both cases, while Wallace is wanted for first-degree murder in Lopes's death. Police consider both suspects armed and dangerous. The shootings are believed to be targeted incidents, with stolen vehicles used in both cases. The victims were described as respected community members. Police have not identified a connection between the victims beyond the shared suspects.
