Toronto opens 2 additional warming centres ahead of cold temperatures Sunday | CBC News
"Toronto will be opening two additional warming centres on Sunday, ahead of cold temperatures expected for the city overnight. In a statement, the city said it would open Cecil Community Centre, at 58 Cecil St., and Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre, at 870 Queen St. E., at 5 p.m. Environment Canada said temperatures could reach 12 C Sunday night, which with windchill could feel like 17 C."
"The two warming centres will be open in addition to the five others previously opened at the end of November. Warming centres are meant to give those who are vulnerable or experiencing homelessness a warm indoor place to rest, where they can access meals, washrooms and referrals to shelter and community services, the city said. Walk-ins are welcome and people will be transported to a different warming centre if the one they go to is already at capacity, the city added."
