Rocky Mountaineer announced a new train tour itinerary named 'Passage to the Peaks' for summer 2026, which will run between Jasper and Banff. This journey highlights the Canadian Rockies' beauty, connecting the iconic mountain towns while avoiding the West Coast. The experience features stops at popular destinations, including Banff National Park, Lake Louise, and Mount Robson. Travelers can choose either eastbound or westbound routes, and overnight stays will be provided in Kamloops, British Columbia, ensuring ample opportunity to appreciate the stunning landscapes.
This experience takes you exclusively through the breathtaking highlights of the Canadian Rockies and is our only route that doesn't travel to the West Coast.
Travelers beginning in Banff will be able to explore Banff National Park and the surrounding town, where the Cascade Mountain looms overhead.
The journey continues to Mount Rundle in Banff National Park, with its rushing waterfalls and glaciers, before continuing on to the panoramic views of Castle Mountain.
Participants will also see Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies, before arriving in Jasper National Park.
