"Alishaa said Nancy was a professional singer before moving to Canada in 2019 and eventually becoming a PSW. She said it was Nancy's dream to start a health-care business to hire more PSWs."
Nancy Grewal, 45, was killed outside a LaSalle home where she worked as a personal support worker. Her family remembers her as kind-hearted, jovial, and generous, often using personal savings to help her clients. Originally from India, Grewal was a professional singer before immigrating to Canada in 2019. She aspired to start a health-care business to employ more PSWs. Grewal was a vocal critic of Khalistan extremism and had received death and assault threats on social media. Less than a week before her death, she spoke publicly about the threats she faced. LaSalle police classify her death as a targeted killing and continue investigating, though no motive has been publicly disclosed.
