"I would love to see it come back to Scarborough,"
"There's so many amazing artists that have come out of Scarborough. I think for young artists growing up in Scarborough to see it happen there and to see artists who reflect themselves featured on such a huge platform is really important."
"We look forward to future collaborations in Scarborough and working with artists and curators to bring Nuit Blanche to their neighbourhoods,"
Nuit Blanche returns to Toronto with hundreds of overnight exhibits under the theme Translating the City, focusing on multilingualism and urban complexity. Three major exhibition zones are Etobicoke, North York and downtown Toronto. Scarborough no longer hosts a dedicated zone after 2023, though Scarborough-based artists participate in other zones. Scarborough Arts leadership praised the 2023 Scarborough exhibition and urged its return to showcase local artists. City officials say the festival rotates annually and express interest in future Scarborough collaborations. Local advocates warn that excluding Scarborough as a host sends a negative message about the borough.
