Wedding allegedly placed a bounty of up to $5 million US on Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia after learning of his co-operation with investigators. Acebedo-Garcia was shot in the head five times by an unidentified hit squad in a Medellin restaurant in January 2025. A U.S. grand jury indictment names eight Canadians who face extradition to California. Wedding was arrested in Mexico, taken into U.S. custody, pleaded not guilty to 17 charges and denies the allegations.
