Regulatory reform and red tape reduction are currently being discussed in Canada, but meaningful change for agriculture remains uncertain. The federal response to a report on reducing regulatory burdens lacked ambition, leading to concerns about the disconnect between political messaging and actual execution. Canada ranks low in regulatory burden among OECD countries, and the current system is viewed as limiting innovation and investment in agriculture.
