Photographer who snapped fight between a bald eagle and Canada goose calls it 'very symbolic' | CBC News
Briefly

During a family hike in Burlington, Ont., Mervyn Sequeira witnessed a striking battle between a bald eagle and a Canada goose. The eagle attempted several attacks on what appeared to be a sick goose, but ultimately abandoned the pursuit, allowing the goose to escape. Sequeira, a seasoned wildlife photographer, noted the encounter's symbolic nature, reflecting on the polarized perspectives among observers, especially in the context of rising political tensions related to U.S.-Canada relations, particularly around trade disputes initiated by then-President Trump.
We were there, and we saw this bald eagle coming in and going in to attack a Canada goose that was on the ice... strangely, the bald eagle just gave up and left.
I only posted [the pictures to social media] in terms of what happened, not putting a political spin on it. However, there were lots of people who looked at it in the political context.
