Ontario Provincial Police have asked people along parts of Highway 9 in Caledon to shelter in place Saturday morning as officers respond to an incident involving potentially armed individuals. The shelter-in-place area runs between The Gore Road, Patterson Side Road, Finnerty Street and Humber Station Road. People outside that area are asked to avoid travelling there until further notice. Residents are instructed to seek immediate shelter if outside, lock doors and windows if inside, avoid engaging suspects, and call 911. Drivers are told to proceed home without unnecessary stops and lock doors upon arrival. Police will provide updates on social media and urge public cooperation.

If you are outside, seek shelter immediately. Secure your safety inside a building or another secure location. If you are inside a building, stay there and lock all doors and windows. If you encounter the suspect, do not engage or approach. Dial 911 immediately to advise police. If possible, close your curtains to avoid drawing attention to yourself or your family.
