Marit Stiles received 68 per cent support in a leadership review and has parted ways with chief of staff Greg Denton and principal secretary Stephanie Nakitsas. Jen Hassum, executive director of the Broadbent Institute, will serve as interim chief of staff. The NDP held a convention where Stiles secured enough support to remain leader but did not receive a resounding endorsement. Stiles signalled upcoming changes as the party targets the 2029 provincial election. The NDP remains the Official Opposition but lost seats and popular vote in the recent snap election. Stiles emphasized rebuilding the movement to defeat Ford and form an NDP government.
