"The policy is not in response to a specific incident and it will only be in place for the Halloween Haunt, said spokesperson Grace Peacock via email. "A safe, family-friendly atmosphere is the type of experience our guests expect and deserve at Canada's Wonderland," Peacock said. "We're introducing this policy as a best practice in the industry, after seeing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior over the years at amusement parks and major entertainment venues.""
"Chaperones must be 21 or older, must provide identification at the entrance and can accompany a maximum of 10 people, according to the park's conduct policy and guidelines. Those who are 16 or older with no identification may be denied entry, the park said. The park will also implement a no re-entry policy after 6 p.m. To enter the park in the evening, people are warned that oversized bags will not be allowed and there is a one bag policy per person."
Canada's Wonderland requires teens 15 and younger to be accompanied by a chaperone aged 21 or older after 6 p.m. during the Halloween Haunt. Chaperones must present identification at the entrance and may accompany up to ten people. Individuals 16 or older without identification may be denied entry. The park will enforce a no re-entry policy after 6 p.m. Evening entrants face bag restrictions, including no oversized bags and a one-bag-per-person rule. Costume restrictions ban costume masks, full face paint, and trench coats for anyone aged 11 or older. The policy is presented as an industry best practice to maintain a safe, family-friendly atmosphere.
