New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced that the Office of Unclaimed Funds returns an average of $2 million daily. Unclaimed funds can originate from utility deposits, trust funds, old bank accounts, uncashed checks, or unused gift cards. To aid in reclaiming these funds, the comptroller's office will hold workshops across the state in July. Several events will take place, such as on July 7 in Long Island and July 10 in the lower Hudson Valley, to inform residents about available resources and how to search for unclaimed funds.

The comptroller's office will host workshops across the state to educate the public about unclaimed funds. Key dates include July 7 on Long Island and July 10 in the lower Hudson Valley.
Workshops scheduled in various locations include the Boilermaker Health & Wellness Expo in Utica on July 11 and OUF Cortland Pride at Cortland Courthouse Park on July 19.
