About 200 people protested outside the Munk Debates in Toronto where an all‑Israeli panel debated whether it is in Israel's national interest to support a two‑state solution. Protesters held signs and Palestinian flags and chanted before police broke up the demonstration. Protesters criticized the absence of Palestinian voices and called the event unacceptable. The debate motion was stated as a question of Israel's national interest. Ehud Olmert and Tzipi Livni argued for the motion, while Michael Oren and Ayelet Shaked argued against it. Organizer Rudyard Griffiths defended the choice of panelists as bringing hard‑won insights and experience.
