Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant in connection to fatal shooting at east end commercial plaza: Toronto police | CBC News
"Police are looking for a 34-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that happened at a commercial plaza in Toronto's east end Saturday. Toronto police responded to reports of a shooting in the Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue E. area just before midnight Saturday, according to a news release. Officers located a man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds, police said. Despite life-saving measures by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene."
"Police later identified the victim as 43-year-old Paulin Harusha. A 34-year-old man is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree-murder in connection with the shooting, Det. Sgt. Alan Bartlett said in an update Thursday. "If you know where [he] is and are found to be harbouring or aiding him in any way, be assured we will investigate and lay charges as appropriate," said Bartlett. He said there is no indication the suspect has left the jurisdiction."
"The relationship between Harusha and the suspect is still under investigation, but officers believe there was "some familiarity" between the two of them, Bartlett said. Police said at the time of the incident that multiple suspects were reported leaving the scene in a light-coloured SUV before officers arrived. But Bartlett said Thursday that officers are only looking for one suspect."
A 43-year-old man, Paulin Harusha, was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds at a commercial plaza near Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue E. just before midnight Saturday and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures. Toronto police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a 34-year-old man for first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Investigators say there is no indication the suspect has left the jurisdiction and believe the suspect and victim had some familiarity. Multiple suspects were initially reported leaving in a light-coloured SUV, but police are currently seeking only one suspect. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Toronto police or Crime Stoppers. The victim's family is described as devastated and police say they are seeking justice for Harusha.
