The Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a call regarding a home invasion at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday, where the resident confronted the intruder.
Police reported that the injured intruder was airlifted to a Toronto hospital and is facing charges of breaking and entering, and possession of a weapon.
The resident is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon while the 41-year-old intruder was wanted for unrelated offences prior to this incident.
