Lilly Singh was awarded an honorary doctor of laws degree from York University in recognition of her community-building efforts and accomplishments in pop culture and entertainment in Toronto. She joked that the new title will become her entire personality and said it will likely appear in her bio, as a tattoo and as a car wrap. Her mother suggested a sign outside their house reading "Lilly Singh, PhD." Singh plans to celebrate with a self-care day, cuddling with the diploma and writing a letter to her younger self. She recalled earning a psychology degree in 2010 and wearing a T-shirt with an "S" for Superwoman, and she joked about not knowing how copyright works.
