Jesse Marsch experienced devastation and anger after being led to believe he would become the USMNT head coach, only to have the position go to Gregg Berhalter. Marsch had to abandon a handshake agreement with Leicester City due to these discussions. Despite the initial setback, he now feels thankful and happy in his current role with Canada. He reflects on how the situation changed the trajectory of his life and believes that everything happens for a reason.
