"The federal weather agency warned of wind chills near -30 for Saturday morning, Saturday evening and into Sunday morning. "Extreme cold puts everyone at risk," said Environment Canada's alert. Saturday will be bright with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -13 C that will feel like -33 C in the morning and -22 C in the afternoon."
"In the evening, forecasts will transition to a low of -21 C with a wind chill of -28 overnight. Sunday will be sunny with a high of -12 C that will feel like -28 C in the morning and -19 C in the afternoon. The weather agency warns of frostbite risk throughout the weekend. It said people should watch out for cold-related symptoms, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle weakness, or any change of colour in fingers and toes."
Environment Canada issued a yellow cold warning for very cold wind chills in the Greater Toronto Area with wind chills near -30 expected Saturday morning, Saturday evening and into Sunday morning. Saturday will reach a high of -13 C, feeling like -33 C in the morning and -22 C in the afternoon, with winds gusting 30 to 50 km/h. Overnight lows will drop to about -21 C with wind chills near -28. Sunday will be sunny and still very cold. Frostbite risk is elevated; watch for shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle weakness, or colour changes in fingers and toes, and limit outdoor exposure for vulnerable people and pets.
