Mayor Olivia Chow's motion calls on federal ministers to reject any ICE deployment. The federal Public Safety Minister's office stated that Canadian law enforcement is responsible for law enforcement in Canada. Both the Public Safety and Foreign Affairs ministers did not clarify their stance on ICE deployment. Canada is co-hosting the World Cup with the U.S. and Mexico, with matches scheduled in Toronto and Vancouver.
