King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark have officially moved from Amalienborg Palace to Fredensborg Palace, their summer residence. The royal family, including three of their children, has settled into the Chancellery House within the palace complex, which features extensive gardens. This relocation comes as former Queen Margrethe has moved to the main house. Despite questions from royal watchers about the smaller residence, historians assert this decision is uncomplicated given the unique royal circumstances. The family received a warm welcome from the public upon their arrival at their new home.

Royal historian Lars Hovbakke Sørensen noted that moving into the secondary residence was a "completely unproblematic" decision for Frederik to make.
The royal family received a heartfelt welcome at Fredensborg Palace, with crowds of royal watchers and well-wishers lining the streets to catch a glimpse.
We have a completely different situation than ever before, where we have a living, former regent, indicating the unique circumstances of this royal transition.
