""Under the care of BTC ecologists, restoration specialists, and dedicated volunteers, the vulnerable and degraded habitats of the former Talisman lands will be permanently protected, restored, and made available for generations of hikers to connect with nature al"
Bruce Trail Conservancy acquired more than 48 hectares of the former Talisman Mountain Resort near Kimberley, Ontario, within the Niagara Escarpment. The purchase permanently protects the escarpment brow, former ski slopes and resort buildings from development and secures 885 metres of the Bruce Trail. The ski hill and resort have been dormant for over a decade and the future of existing buildings is undecided. Community opposition blocked past development proposals. Restoration work led by BTC ecologists, restoration specialists, and volunteers will focus on protecting and restoring vulnerable, degraded habitats and providing long-term recreational access for hikers.
