Carnival Cruise Line has issued a warning to passengers aboard the Pride cruise ship about significant amounts of sea ice along the planned route to Greenland, which could disrupt the itinerary. The Carnival Pride, currently sailing south of Newfoundland and Labrador, recently resumed operations after a prior service disruption. This isn't the first occurrence of navigation issues due to ice for the Pride, as passengers have shared previous experiences involving port cancellations. Despite the disappointment, many passengers remain understanding of unpredictable arctic weather.
Currently sailing on the Pride, we've been told arctic weather is unpredictable and it is unfortunately unsafe to try either port in Greenland.
At present, in areas along our intended route, there is a significant presence of sea ice which could impact the itinerary.
