Canada's Olympic snubs who could fight their way back onto the roster
Briefly

The 2026 Winter Olympics are 157 days away and Hockey Canada is narrowing its roster at a 2025 National Teams Orientation Camp in Calgary. Forty-two players received invitations while roughly 50 additional NHL skaters remain on a watchlist for evaluation during the upcoming season. Nazem Kadri was omitted from the initial camp group despite rebounding offensively with the Calgary Flames and contributing 15 points in 16 playoff games during Colorado's 2022 Stanley Cup run. Kadri posted 75 points in 2023-24 and a career-high 35 goals with 67 points the following season. At age 34, Kadri leads Flames teammates in scoring chances, shot attempts and rush attempts. Hockey Canada invited three goaltenders to the camp: Jordan Binnington, Samuel Montembeault and Adin Hill.
"I feel like I deserve a chance,"
"I think, over the last few seasons, I've certainly proven that with my statistics and the winning pedigree. I think it speaks for itself."
