Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is visiting Norway on Friday to observe NATO's Cold Response exercise, a biennial training operation involving approximately 25,000 troops from 14 nations practicing land, air, and sea operations in Arctic conditions. Participating countries include Canada, the United States, the UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, Sweden, and Finland. During his Oslo visit, Carney will meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stre to discuss trade, investment, clean energy, critical minerals, and the aerospace sector. Carney emphasized Canada's commitment to Arctic defense collaboration, stating the nation will deepen partnerships with Arctic allies to enhance security and prosperity. Following Norway, Carney will travel to the United Kingdom. He will also attend the Canada-Nordic Summit to meet with Nordic leaders.
