In March, Canada added 14,000 jobs, following significant job losses in January and February. The unemployment rate remained at 6.7%. Employment levels showed little change in full-time and part-time positions, as well as in private and public sectors. However, public sector employment grew faster annually. Job gains occurred in the natural resources and 'other services' sectors, while declines were noted in finance and real estate. Average hourly wages rose by 4.7%, reaching $37.73, despite a surprising loss of 84,000 jobs reported in February.
