He compiled 11 seasons with the Yomiuri Giants, totaling over 1,074 games and 3,934 at-bats with a .277/.361/.521 career slash, .882 OPS and 248 home runs. In 2025 he hit .327/.416/.598 over 69 games while missing time for an elbow injury and posted a 1.014 OPS in that span. From 2018–2024 he averaged roughly 30 home runs per season. He is a six-time NPB All-Star, three-time home run leader and two-time Gold Glove winner. Okamoto plays first base, third base and left field, offers primary pull-side power, plate coverage and quick hands at age 29.
