"I was able to get it into a spot that I could get it off my stick and into a spot that had a chance to go in and luckily it did,"
"The whole game was a battle, Guys didn't quit. We stayed and trusted our systems and ourselves, and we got rewarded for it."
"We're not making this Sid's last game"
Mitch Marner scored 1:22 into overtime with a backhand shot that beat Czech goaltender Lukas Dostal, sealing a 4-3 quarterfinal win for Canada over Czechia. Marner skated through two Czech players and threaded the puck past a third defender to create the winning chance. Canada overcame two separate deficits and responded to the first real adversity after an unbeaten preliminary round. Players remained committed to their systems, trusted one another, and executed a comeback that sent the team on to the Olympic semifinals.
