"Bryan Bullock, Washington-Fremont football: Bullock completed all 10 of his pass attempts for 328 yards and six touchdowns to lead Washington to a 48-20 win over crosstown rival American. Washington is 3-1 this season. Teddy Dacey, Menlo-Atherton football: Dacey threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns to lead M-A to a 42-28 win over San Mateo. Menlo-Atherton (1-4) starts league play on Saturday at home against Menlo School."
Voting for Athlete of the Week covers performances from Sept. 22-27 and closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Bots and any other artificial voting methods are prohibited; suspicious activity can disqualify candidates and suspend the poll. Votes by email and votes submitted after the Wednesday deadline are not counted. Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print sports sections of the Mercury News and East Bay Times. Nominations are accepted via email to highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com until 11 a.m. each Monday, and submitted coach or team stats are reviewed. Nominees include high-school athletes with standout football and water polo performances.
