Acalanes has started the season 6-1 and is scheduled to play Novato at home on Wednesday. Louis DeScioli, Leland water polo: DeScioli, a senior, scored six goals and dished out three assists in Leland 18-7 win over Stockdale. Leland has started the season 4-0."
Voting for the Bay Area News Group boys Athlete of the Week covers performances from Sept. 1–6. The poll prohibits bots and other artificial voting methods and warns that suspicious activity can disqualify candidates and suspend the poll. Votes by email and votes submitted after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted. Readers may vote online as many times as they like until the deadline. Winners are announced each Friday online and in the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections. Nominations for future polls are accepted by email to highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com until 11 a.m. each Monday. Several nominees and their game performances are listed.
