""As we got ready to start cutting her cake, everyone started gathering around and cutting the cake and all we heard were gunshots. Everybody just dove to the ground. It was just unexpected. I don't know what happened. I'm just so shocked and lost and speechless. I just want to say I'm sorry to all the mothers out there that lost their kids at my birthday party," said Patrice Williams."
A mass shooting occurred at an event space in Stockton during a two-year-old's birthday party. Four people were killed, including three children; victims were ages 8, 9, 14 and 21. At least 100 people attended the celebration when multiple gunshots erupted and attendees dove to the ground. The FBI and regional law enforcement agencies are involved and are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to arrests or convictions. Authorities believe more than one person was involved and a focused manhunt remains ongoing. The 14-year-old victim was identified as Amari Peterson and a GoFundMe was created for his funeral.
