"After reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, police determined the 14-year-old was playing basketball in the park with some friends when a group of at least five young males approached and tried to provoke a fight, asking if the teenager was in a gang. The 14-year-old boy and the others ran away and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired it multiple times at the teenager, striking him in his lower leg, Seffens said."
Three teenage boys, ages 15, 16 and 17, were arrested after a shooting in Santa Rosa that left a 14-year-old boy with three gunshot wounds to one leg. Officers stopped a 2022 gray Buick SUV used to flee the scene and found clothing matching what witnesses and surveillance showed, along with additional evidence; no firearm was recovered. Surveillance footage and witness accounts indicate at least five young males approached while the victim played basketball, one fired multiple times, and at least two suspects remain at large.
