La Jolla Cove earned the No. 1 spot among U.S. beaches in Tripadvisor's 2026 Traveler's Choice Awards after returning to the list's top ranks. The rankings are dominated by Florida and Hawaii, with La Jolla one of only two California beaches in the top group. The cove is a protected underwater park known for extraordinary marine biodiversity, seasonal whale migrations and large sea lion colonies. Tripadvisor placed the cove at No. 7 globally as well. Rankings were determined entirely by traveler reviews posted between Nov. 30, 2024, and Dec. 1, 2025. Calm waters enable diving and snorkeling, while low tides reveal crystal-clear tidal pools.
