A box truck filled with 475 frozen turkeys and 61 vegan turkeys was stolen in Lake Elsinore while volunteers from the U.R. Important Foundation were sorting food on Auto Center Drive. Riverside County sheriff's deputies responded at 7:52 a.m. and searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The turkeys were intended for distribution to needy families as part of the foundation's signature Thanksgiving giveaway. The U.R. Important Foundation, founded in 2009 to support military families and others in need, faces a setback as organizers work to recover or replace the stolen food.
