""I wanted a visual of it," she says, speaking from her bedroom in San Mateo. "Because it's hard to grasp how much there actually is when it's just digital.""
""Lisa has a bubbly personality and she's always ready for an adventure!""
""crazy bitch.""
Lisa Catalano, 42, paid for 12 digital billboards on Highway 101 and launched MarryLisa.com with an application form to find a husband. The online profile lists personal details, dating preferences (age 35–45, college educated, liberal, drug free), testimonials from friends, and physical measurements. The billboards went up on Sept. 2 and generated intense local and national media attention, including interviews with the New York Post and People and a disparaging remark on Fox News. Catalano received a substantial amount of hate mail and printed it to visualize its scale after having lost a fiancé to a terminal illness.
