Ryan Hardy, 23, surrendered at the San Francisco Sheriff's Office and will be transferred to the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office later this week. An 11-year-old girl was struck in the head by gunfire on Jan. 5 while sitting in the backseat of a car in a parking lot on Delta Fair Boulevard and was taken by ambulance to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland. She remains hospitalized, has shown signs of improvement, and is expected to recover. Detectives determined the shooting appears to be a case of mistaken identity and concluded the girl's family was not involved in criminal activity. Detectives identified several people who aided Hardy and asked anyone with information to contact Det. John Cox at jcox@antiochca.gov or 925-481-8147.
