Corona del Mar won a 78-77 Sunset League game at Los Alamitos with a final layup by sophomore Nolan Scott with 4.3 seconds remaining. Coach Jason Simco designed the final play, Maxwell Scott set a screen, and Luke Mirhashemi passed to Nolan for the game-winning basket. Maxwell Scott finished with 35 points and Oliver Nakra contributed 19 for Corona del Mar. Los Alamitos sophomore Isaiah Williamson had a standout performance with 26 points. Corona del Mar improved to 17-1 while Los Alamitos fell to 8-7 and 0-1 in league play. The Scott brothers have played together since second grade; Maxwell plans to return to football as a senior.
