"Gun violence in Alameda County continues to surge, and too many families are grieving losses that should never have happened. I am fighting for real solutions that stop the shootings, strengthen prevention efforts, and protect every neighborhood in this county, Price said in a press release announcing her candidacy. As someone who survived the juvenile justice and foster care system, I carry the truth of those experiences with me."
"So, angry Alameda County residents started trying to recall her a mere eight months into her term, culminating in last November's recall of Price by a pretty overwhelming 63%-37% margin. Since then, Price has pretty much ridden off into the sunset, or rather, she's been podcasting and Substacking. But Price apparently feels the time is right for her political comeback, as KTVU reports that Pamela Price is running for Alameda County DA again, barely a year after being recalled from office."
Pamela Price served less than two years as Alameda County District Attorney and drew heavy criticism for lenient plea deals for violent offenders, disputes with judges, and hiring her romantic partner to a $115,000-a-year position that was not publicly posted. Governor Gavin Newsom also expressed disapproval of her performance. Voter anger prompted a recall effort that removed Price by a 63%-37% margin. Since the recall, Price has produced podcasts and Substack posts. Price announced a campaign to run again, citing rising gun violence, a personal background in juvenile justice and foster care, and a focus on youth violence prevention and recidivism reduction. She will formally announce at a press conference and will face appointed DA Ursula Jones Dick.
