All westbound lanes of I-80 in Pinole were shut down Thursday morning because of major police activity occurring before Pinole Valley Road. A traffic camera indicated that as of 7:30 a.m., all four westbound lanes and one eastbound lane were closed. The Willow Avenue offramp from westbound I-80 was also closed. Drivers were detoured off in Hercules at Highway 4 and then routed back onto the freeway beyond the scene. Police activity remained ongoing and significant traffic delays were in effect during the closure.
