Tesla Robotaxis have been involved in numerous crashes since the service began in Texas. Safety drivers who supervise the vehicles have reportedly fallen asleep while the car was moving. One passenger captured video showing a supervisor slumped at the wheel and said the car's attention alerts repeatedly woke the driver. The passenger reported the incident through the Robotaxi app but received no response. Another rider reported the same driver was asleep for most of a trip between Temescal and San Francisco. The incidents add to worries about readiness and invite closer regulatory scrutiny in California.
