Ed Lauing's mayoral term ends next week. Vice Mayor Vicki Veenker is a strong contender for mayor. Julie Lythcott-Haims withdrew her name from consideration. Other council members include Pat Burt, George Lu, Keith Reckdahl, and Greer Stone. The mayor chairs meetings, helps set the agenda, and serves as the city's de facto spokesperson.
