Darrin Hutchinson, 36, was sentenced to five years and ten months in federal prison for participating in a West Oakland robbery crew that stole hundreds of thousands in jewelry, cash and marijuana during a 2022 spree. Hutchinson pleaded guilty to conspiracy and robbery and is housed at FTC Mendota near Fresno. The crew included members of the Ghost Town gang. The spree culminated in a birthday party where members openly flashed cash and stolen jewelry. Hutchinson apologized in a handwritten jail letter, cited vocational training at Santa Rita Jail, and sought mercy during sentencing on Oct. 22.
