"a very giving child. He was generous with love. Either with friends or strangers."
"I miss him and his hugs. His favorite thing to do was hugs and kisses. He'll run over and say, 'daddy can I get a hug and kiss?' he would say, 'Daddy, I love you,' and I would just hear this trail of laughter, and we are never going to have that again,"
San Mateo County prosecutors declined to file criminal charges against a 19-year-old driver after a crash in Burlingame on August 8, 2025, when the driver's car jumped a curb and crashed into a restaurant. The crash followed a chain reaction involving a bicyclist and an e-bike. Four-year-old Ayden Fang was killed and a 6-year-old girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Stanford Medical Center. Authorities reported that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors and the driver was not arrested. Ayden's family had been meeting another family at the restaurant; his mother described him as generous and affectionate.
